Janice Whitney is a T’ít’q’et, St’át’imc member who has been working as the Administrator for T’ít’q’et since Fall 2016.  Janice has a business management and aboriginal healthcare administration background. Over the years, she has worked in various roles throughout administration, including working as Lands Manager, Health Coordinator, Governance Coordinator, and Assistant Administrator.  She has also worked as an aboriginal portfolio advisor with an aboriginal housing organization and at the nation level as the Relations Manager for St’át’imc Government Services. In the early 1990’s, Janice volunteered her time during the community engagement and constitutional development of the Sxeks Ta Nt’akmensa I P’egp’ig’lh.ha (Traditional Laws of the P’egp’íg’lha) and embraces the dream statement written by Rose Whitley:… Our words come from our hearts. We will look after ourselves and each other. We will make our own laws. We will follow our own way of life as did our ancestors and as will our future generations.
